Our Supported Internship Programme is designed for young people aged 16–25 with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) who want to develop the confidence, independence and workplace skills needed for adult life and meaningful employment.

Who Can Access a Supported Internship?

Our programme is suitable for:

  • Young people aged 16–25 with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP who want to move towards employment but need additional support to get there.

How We Support Our Learners

Support goes far beyond education. Every learner receives a bespoke package designed around their individual EHCP outcomes.

This may include:

  • Dedicated Job Coach support

  • Specialist SEND support

  • Wellbeing and therapeutic services

  • Pastoral mentoring

  • Functional Skills English and Maths

  • Employability and life skills

  • Independent living skills

  • Travel training

  • Parent and carer engagement

  • Regular reviews and personalised target setting

  • Work experience and employer introductions

Our pathways include:

Pre-Supported Internship

A confidence-building programme introducing vocational learning, employability, Functional Skills and personal development.

Supported Internship

A structured programme combining vocational qualifications, workplace learning and supported work placements to prepare learners for employment.

Pre-Apprenticeship

For learners who are ready to take the next step towards Foundation Apprenticeships, Apprenticeships or sustained employment through extended industry placements.

Vocational Pathways

Learners can choose from a range of vocational sectors, including:

  • Childcare & Early Years

  • Hair & Beauty

  • Business & Customer Service

Additional pathways continue to be developed in partnership with employers across Devon and Cornwall.
